small group cell group churchChurch Cells...feel the Power... Small group cell group church cells also known as just cell groups are exploding all around the world. (cell as in a living multiplying human cell, not prison cell) The question is why?... Well I believe the answer is, because it's how church should be, because it's how church started. Jesus worked with a small group you maybe have heard of them, they were commonly known as the 12 disciples. He had a small group cell group church. If the Lord Jesus could only interact and work with 12 why do we think we know better. We've tried different ways namely what's known as traditional church. But it's just not cut it, has it? don't get me wrong I'm not pointing the finger to any individual, pastor, church leader or anyone who has slogged their heart and guts out trying to build church. I know what it's like cos I've been a church leader, thats why I am so excited about church cells. When I first read Ralph W Neighbour's book Where Do We Go from Here? I was totally blown away. I have read a load of books to do with christianity but I think this has got to be the best book next to the bible itself, that I have ever read. There are some amazing stories and information in this book (powerful). When someone receives Jesus into their life they have just been born again. They are in effect a baby christian and need help to grow in their new life. If they go to a traditional church then it's quite possible that the only help they will get is when they attend a meeting/service and that will be "how are you, oh! good, see you next week" If they go to a small group cell group church you will be looked after and someone will be there just to help you (to disciple you). You will also find other friends in your cell group who will be there for you. You will be encouraged to use your God given gifts to help your group and others. Also it will be natural to share your new life with others and you can expect your group to grow and multiply. I think it's safe to say that the worlds biggest churches are run as a small group cell group church just like Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, Korea. Claiming more than 850,000 members, and is pastored by Paul Yonggi Cho Another book you may wish to read to get another perspective on church cells is The Second Reformation: Reshaping the Church for the 21st Century by William A Beckham. Of the two books though I found "Where do we go from here" the most exciting one on church cells! this is just a paragraph click here to read more of the article
